msCaroline NANKWANGA - Advocate
Caroline Nankwanga is an Attorney at GraHaM Advocates with extensive transactional experience. She has a solid background in corporate and commercial law, with a particular emphasis on corporate law and corporate governance advisory, mergers and acquisitions, asset disposals, and regulatory compliance.
Carol also has firsthand knowledge of family law, inheritance, succession, private wealth, and domestic relations.
Carol's strong corporate and commercial background allows her to contribute significantly to GraHaM Advocates’ compliance team, advising clients on compliance and risk management issues. She has worked with a diverse range of clients on a variety of business law matters, including the drafting and negotiation of commercial contracts/agreements such as financing agreements, distribution agreements, and sale and purchase agreements.
Carol represents a wide range of companies in Uganda, including SMEs, multinationals, start-ups, and family-owned businesses.
Furthermore, she uses her transactional knowledge and understanding to provide first-rate advice and assistance in corporate, commercial, trade, investment, real estate, construction, and banking disputes, with a focus on litigation and arbitration, as well as regulatory inquiries and investigations, to devise defense solutions to overcome or mitigate business challenges.
Carol, based on her expertise and experience, serves as company secretary on several corporate boards of major Ugandan companies. She maintains a useful relationship between the boards and the companies because of her critical role in administering critical company matters.
Carol obtained a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) degree from Makerere University in 2016 and a Post Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice from the Law Development Centre-Kampala in 2017. She is a member of the Uganda Law Society and the East African Law Society, as well as an Advocate of the High Court of Uganda.
She enjoys traveling and spending time with her family, friends, and colleagues when she is not at the firm.
